Throughout her high school years, Katherine competed in showjumping competitions around the world. She earned team and individual gold medals in the U.S. National Junior Jumper Championship, and team gold medal and individual silver medal in the North American Youth Championship. During her time at Vanderbilt, Katherine began to represent the U.S. Equestrian Team in international competitions. She was also a research assistant in the university’s Laboratory for Research on Conflict and Collective Action, the secretary of She’s The First, an organization that supports female education in developing countries, the Vice President of HeForShe, a United Nations initiative that champions gender equality, and a clinic escort at Planned Parenthood. After graduating cum laude, Katherine focused on her equestrian career for two years and earned top placings in five-star-level international competitions. While riding full-time, she tutored several equestrians, and has since founded Excelsior Academics. She is also the co-founder and director of Pegasus Orthobiologics, an equine biologics company. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her mini goldendoodle Mia, following current events, and reading.
